Bovina ISD — Grievance & Complaint Procedures
Bovina ISD is committed to maintaining a safe, equitable, and nondiscriminatory educational environment. Students, parents, employees, and community members have the right to file complaints or grievances regarding violations of policy, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or other concerns.
This page provides access to the district’s formal grievance procedures, required postings, and downloadable forms.
➤ How to File a Grievance
Individuals may file a grievance by completing the official LEA grievance form and submitting it to the appropriate administrator.
Step 1 — Informal Conference
Individuals are encouraged to first meet with the campus principal or immediate supervisor to attempt informal resolution.
Step 2 — Formal Complaint
Submit the formal grievance form:

Formal complaints must be submitted within 15 business days of the alleged incident or the outcome of the informal conference.
Step 3 — Superintendent Review
The Superintendent or designee will conduct a review and issue a written decision within 10 business days.
Step 4 — Appeal to Board of Trustees
If the complaint remains unresolved, the individual may appeal to the Board of Trustees following the board policy procedures.

Step 1: Informal Resolution
- Complainant may first discuss concern with campus principal or supervisor.
Step 2: Formal Complaint
- Submit a written complaint to the Superintendent or designee within 15 business days.
Step 3: Superintendent Review
- Superintendent will review and respond in writing within 10 business days.
Step 4: Appeal to Board
- If unresolved, complainant may appeal to the School Board within 10 days of the Superintendent’s decision.
